NMC Lab 8

Set up the initial conditions for NMC lab 8 yesterday (Sunday) evening.  Each time I finish a lab, I save the configs of each router in flash (e.g. flash:Lab07.R4.cfg) so that I can go back to it with a copy Lab07.R4.cfg start.  On the switches, I save a copy of the vlan.dat as well.  Just for good measure, I also save the configs on my PC.  It takes me about 20 to 30 minutes to save the old lab and set up the initial configs for the new one.

Read through Lab 8 in the lobby of the Conservatoire de Musique de Luxembourg while my 11-year-old son was in his bass guitar lesson.  Got quite annoyed with the BGP scenario because I could not work it out.  Found out from the answer key that the solution involves breaking one of the requirements.  What is that? I hope there are no incompatible requirements like that in the real exam, otherwise I might as well give up now. Ranted about it on the DISCUSSiT forum.

No time to do any lab work this evening – busy all evening with a scout leaders’ meeting.
